NYT and folk music

Hey, the Times is running a bunch of stuff about the rise of folk, roots and bluegrass in the city. There's a great article here and a great blog discussion about peoples' favorite lines from folk songs here.

Check it out!

As through this world I ramble,
I seen lots of funny men;
Some rob you with a six gun -
Some with a fountain pen.

W. Guthrie "Pretty Boy Floyd"

Cool article and quotes, Mol. Seems that bluegrass is one of the most popular old styles - a style of banjo I enjoy, but never learned.

Another more recent favorite:

If a man can't piss in his own front yard,
He's livin' too close to town.
